Hi
I have been on Alesse for almost 4 years now and I've been having a scare. On my last pack I had missed only 1 pill by about 15 hours in which I took right away when I remembered and continued to take the next pill at the regularRegular insulin time on the same day.
On the Saturday of my last pill of that pack, I started spottingVaginal bleeding between periods. The spotting continued until Tuesday when it got heavier but still just a very light flow compared to my normal flow. This light flow has continued till today Wednesday. My concern is with the very dark brown, almost black colour I'm finding on the pad...
What could all of this mean? I'm not getting any pains or cramps either. (Where cramps only occured on some cycles very slightly)
I'm very confused and scared that the pill may have let me down after so long :(
You do not ovulate at all on bcp's. Therefore, you cannot use the 14-15 day after your period as an indicator. This is only if you are regular and NOT on the pill. The only way that you can ovulate is if you miss pills and it is usually pretty soon after you miss. And does not always happen especially if it is only one pill and you took it as soon as you did. Best wishes to you.
usually you can miss one pill and not have to worry. Let me tell you a story about pill though. Depending on your weight it may not carry such a high garentee. Also you have to take it at same time every day. I know when I was pregnant with my first child there were a lot of women in there pregnant that had been on the pill and got pregnant. Remember the pill isn't 100% But check your pill instructions about weight, and see how much you weigh. If you aren't overweight your fine but if you are a little overweight the pill doesn't work as well. Which it is stated in your pill instructions.
Its Friday now and I've been having my "period" for a week or so but each day seems like its the last days of my period where its very light and very dark still. I've had no cramping or irritability whatsoever.
Do you think I should bother buying a pregnancy test to be sure?
no I don't think you should buy a preg test because if you are having a period for a week, I wouldn't worry. Wait a month and see what next months period is like
