clitoral cyst

i have a cyst on my clitoris that sometimes flares up and swells. doc said he's seen it onece and wants to perform surgery. however, he says it might include the removal of my clitoris. he doesn't suspect cancer but rather a blockage by the cyst. ever heard of this?

I strongly suggest you get a second opinion. The clitoris is part of the sexuality of woman, you will lose all feeling down there. Do not let him remove your clitoris...Seek another opinion, or make sure he is going to remove or burn the cyst and not remove the clitoris.

Clitoral cysts are extremely rare.  I have never, ever, ever heard of a doctor excising the clitoris as a surgical remedy.  Are you sure you didnt misunderstand him?  there have been cases of cysts so large that they resemble a penis and they are still only require surgical excision of the CYST, not the entire clitoris.

If you heard him correctly and he wants to remove your clitoris, Id strongly suggest a second opinion.
