clomid and hcg shot

Has anyone ever had a hcg shot?? i am starting my 2nd round of clomid this month and they want to check my follicles on monday and my estrogen level. if all is good i will give myself the hcg shot. I took clomid last month and i did O but just didnt pregnant. is the hcg shot going to increase my risk of having mulitples??? I freaking out, i know i should have asked my dr. more questions but i dont think of them till i get home! please help!!

Hi kellybug! The HcG shot isn't gonna change your chance of multiples, that's upto the follicles and you can see on your US how many you have and how big they are. The HcG shot is meant to make you ovulate at a specific time (36 hours after the shot exactly) so don't worry about that! I got them with Clomid, to time my IUI and later on with my IVF procedures. For you, it'll just make it easier to plan a romantic evening! Good luck!
