conceiving after cyst removal

my surgery is on the 6th of march to remove my 3.5 complex cyst. doctor said they might take out the whole right ovary. i have two questions
1. if they remove part of that ovary, can that same ovary still produce healthy eggs? or having an unhealthy pregnancy may occur?
2. after a surgery like this, i know your period might not be regular, and you still have a good chance of getting pregnant because of your other ovary, but less chance. how and when can i start trying to conceive AND HOW CAN I KNOW WHEN I AM OVULATING IF MY PERIODS WONT BE REGULAR.
i am 26 and i just wanna get pregnnat without all this headache like we all do . what and when is the easiest to try after a cyst removal which is a laprascopy.
3. does this surgery give you more of a chance to miscarry your first pregnancy? thank you in advance for your help

I had a cyst removed on Oct. 31. I got my first period on Jan. 11th and am now 7 weeks pg. I started taking fertilaid, it's supposed to help reproductive organs. I had two miscarriages in 05 and haven't gotten pregnant since. I think you have a great chance of getting pregnant as long as you don't have any other problems. Good Luck!

I would think that ovary would no longer work. I'd ask dr to be sure. We switch ovaries when we ovulate each month so you still can get pregnant. The bad ovary shouldn't have any effect on the good one. Your uterus is where the baby will grow and the ovaries don't have an effect there, so the baby would be just fine. You probably will not ovulate some months, though. An ovulation predictor kit(OPK) and/or charting your temps will help confirm ovulation to maximize your chances of conception. There are millions of women w/one ovary that have children. Good luck on your surgery. Maybe, dr doesn't have to remove the ovary?
