I think you answered your question, many women have a few months of scant or irregular period coming off of depo. You may have what seems to be a normal period one month and then not see one for a few. Keep testing, or at the very least, act pregnant just in case. Take prenatals with extra folic acid, stop any bad habits, etc, just in case you are pg.

Both times on I was one depo (1st time was for three and half years, second time was only two shots after giving birth to my first child) it took about 12 months to get pregnant from the time I had my last shot. I wish I could remember when I resumed normal cycles after getting off of it the first time, I wasn't actively TTC at that point, so I wasn't really tracking it. The second time, after only two shots, I was nursing, so that may have influenced it as well. I do remember it took about 9 months from the dat eof the last shot for it to appear and it was a little irregular.

Andi

PS
I have to agree that the responsible thing with Am I Pregnant posts is to advise testing or seeing a doctor. I like the way "who_am_I" put it, I would hate to be responsible for someone not testing when they were or freaking someone out if they weren't. I am certain there is a way we could say it without offending people, but I don't think Adevotee's first response was brash or harsh. It is hard to gauge a situation, and even harder to surmise if in fact there was chance of getting pregnant. As we have seen many times on Medhelp, we seem to be a board full of misfits, the unimaginable and miraculous has happened many times on here. It is nearly impossble to say with absolute certainty that the possiblility of being pg does or doesn't exist.

I was also on the Depo shot, I had 2 shots in May 04 and then in Aug 04.  Then in November when I was due for my next shot I went straight to the BCP.  Then in Aug 05, DH and I decided to TTC.  I am now a little over 12 weeks now. The Depo shot can stay in your system between 12-24 months, typically.  Every woman is differnt, so this may not be true for you. Since you are having a normal AF I dont think the Depo is really messing with your body...I bleed for days while on it and then when I stopped it I didnt have AF until I used the BCPs.  And after I stopped the BCPs I didnt have AF until Dec 05 and Jan 06 with the help of Provera.  Have you been BBT charting?  That would help with determining when to BD if you are not pregnant this month.  Dont think worse case senario.  Thinks will work out! Best of Luck! Jen

I just think people should be careful on how they word their
comments - maybe with a little more sensitivity and compassion -
perhaps?

I am waiting on the test results to see if i am pregnate. My dr did a blood test, pap smear, and vaginal ultrasound. My last period was on feb 28th, after my pap smear i had some blood come out when she removed the instrument used for the exam. She said "oh it looks like your period is starting", but that was over a week ago and i didnt bleed any after that. Untill today (april 20th) I had a small line of pinkish-red mucus like substance(no clots or smell), it is a day after the vaginal ultrasound(in 8 days i will have missed another period). I dont know whats going. I have never missed a period before this. I am 21 years old, and my cycles are normaly last 4 to 5 days at most. I have only been sexualy active for about one year, and it has been been with only one guy. Two weeks ago i took a urine test and it was negative. what could be going on?

It's ALWAYS possible to be pregnant, if someone has had intercourse and has her ovaries and uterus and had sex with someone who has sperm.   That's why it's so frustrating to hear the same thing, could I be pregnant over and over and over again.  Of course it's possible.  How is anyone here to say anything else?
The only way to tell if someone is pregnant is to take a pregnancy test, or to see their doctor if they are not sure.  To tell them, "gee, it sounds like you are" could be devastating to a young teen who is scared.  To say "no, you aren't" could lead to a delay in real pregnancy diagnosis.

The only responsible answer to the "could I be pregnant" question is to take a pregnancy test to find out, perhaps give instructions on how/when to take one, and to tell the person to see their doctor if they aren't sure.  Cindy did ask a long long time ago for those types of questions NOT to be put on the board.

If they don't want people to respond to the question like I did, then they need to NOT ask "AM I PREGNANT?"

"Many posters seem to be young girls", if they are indeed "young girls" then they are breaking the rules of being on this forum. You HAVE to be 18 to post here.

AND, if I remember correctly (it's been awhile since I actually posted a question of my own), it clearly states to NOT ask the question "AM I PREGNANT?"

Why is it that people who ask could I be pregnant questions
gets the standard answer about how no one can tell them if
they are pregnant just go take a test.  I'm sure the posters
know we can't tell them they are pregnant or not.  They just
want to know if its possible based on their situations.  Many
posters seem to be young girls who feel they can't turn to
their mothers for answers for whatever reasons.  Just give
them a break, okay!

If you had sex, you COULD be pregnant.

anytime you have sex there is the potential to get pregnant, no matter if you use protection or not.

NO ONE on the internet can tell you whether you are or aren't pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to take a HPT or go to a doctor and get a test done (urine or blood).

Take Care

If you are pregnant, the HPT may have not detected it. But the blood that you described could be one of two things... It could be implantation if you are pregnant, or it could be the start of your period.
You really should test again since it's now the 20th. Do it in the morning when you first go to the bathroom because your hormone levels are the highest.
Good luck to you

Go get a blood test done...that is more acutate than an HPT.  Even if you are not pregnant you need to talk to the Dr about why your period is late.
