cut though part of finger nail? Am I OK?

Sorry I don't know any where else to put this but I need help.

I cut through only part of my fingernail to the skin, with a new kitchen knife.  It is not deep, and stopped bleeding in a minute or so, but I am still worried.

Does any one know if I need medical help?

I have really bad insurance and it would cost a fortune to see an after hours place, but I don't want to risk my finger or my health.

Please someone answer soon!

Hi Keep the finger nail area clean and free of germs.Soak it in warm water 3 times a day, when cooking make sure your finger is well bandaged to keep food debris out of it.If your finger looks swollen and inflamed you do need to see a doctor there is know way to get around it you can't treat it your self.See a doctor on Monday to make sure your finger is O.K just to be on the safe side.Take Care TNT406.
