cycs

by islandprincess, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM
a couple of months i went to the dr to discover i have a cycs on my left breast....Now all i know is that it itches alot especially when AF comes....but when i went to measure for my cousin's wedding her seamstress told me that one breast is bigger than the other( well one part of our body is bigger than the other)........she continued to say that my spin is bent.. it's not that noticable but if you look closely my left breast is smaller than my right.....i was wonder if the cycs can be the cause of the size & is my bent spin going to be a major problem when i get older???????...help please

One breast is almost always bigger than the other(if your natural)cysts or no cysts. My left one is also smaller than my right one, your young, i wouldnt worry too much about it. but you can always make an appt to get it checked if it's concerning you.

maybe it is spine.... but how can a seamstress tell you your spine is "bent"????

by bookerswife, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM
HAHAHAHAHA! YOU almost made me tinkle on myself! Thanks!

by sk2006a, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM
well, if she's talking about her spine, and not the spinnaker on her sailboat (well, she does live on an island) the dressmaker probably can tell.  if you have scoliosis with a significant enough curve, one shoulder will be higher than the other if you have a thoracic curve, and one hip will be higher than the other if you have a lumbar curve.  (my daughter has scoliosis and is in year-three of wearing a torso brace.)

by Harley-girl, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM
You would think that if she had such a bent spine she would have found out about it by now. A doctor should have noticed it before the dressmaker.

My thought exactly! I would never go off of what a seamstress says about my spine. I am sure if she has ever had any kind of physical than she would have been told by now that her spine is bent.

I once heard an actor say that until the costumer for a play told him, he didn't know one of his legs was slightly longer than the other.  So maybe dressmakers do notice subtle things that a doc would not be measuring.  Rich ladies who get a lot of custom clothes made sometimes comment that their dressmaker was the first to comment that they were pregnant.  (Hairdressers are also notorious for noticing pregnancy early because of changes in the hair.)

I think you should get checked out.A lump be it a cyst or not should get checked out.If your spine is "bent" then check that out also.We can not see it,so we can not tell you if it will affect you later in life.

How r u? Was the wedding fun? As far as your spine, some people have rougher times than others it all depends on how bad of a curve u have so sorry but a dr bill is probably the only way to find out. Maybe it's nothing since u haven't had any problems w/ it :) I'm headed to the dr today, I've been cramping alot the last week or so, wonder if I've thinned or dilated any! At 34 wks I did w/ Jesse so now I'm 33.5wks so we'll see what Jordan Isaiah is doing :) ya just never know!! Dh is getting scared to BD he says I just look too pg, he doesn't wanna make any thing happen sooner LOL :)

Hope doing great!! I swear any day now fire is going to singe (sp) my tonsils, heart burn is horrible!!
Can't wait to get to the DR today & see what she says so then I can tell DH all is well so we better get to bding before it's too late :)LOL

IP and I must be one in the same. I to suffer from one-boob-bigger-itis and scoliosis (if that's what she's talking about).

by HIS GIFT TO US, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM
I meant to ask I was a little late on finding out Casey left, is that the same casey that had her baby so early & was blind but had done so well w/ learning & potty training? I was just wondering she seems like such a great mom, I hope I have these people mixed up!!! Like I said I'm so far behind on the latest news!! Just wondering if it was her. Take Care. I go the Dr at 3. Maybe we'll catch ea other before then :)

by xrayu2, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM
Has your doctor considered doing an ultrasound or mammogram of this cyst?

by HIS GIFT TO US, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM

Yep Jordan Isaiah will be our 2nd BOY!!! Jesse was so cute as a giraffe (sp), we started trick or treating early but I kept getting horrible stomach & back cramps so my mom met up w/ us & took him to alot of the churches that had activities going on :) So he came home w/ tons of candy & he won a Barney tape & an Alice in Wonderland movie plus he had toy lizards & a light up pumpkin necklace & a toy car so he was very HAPPY :)

I wouldn't go by a dx from a seamstress. See your dr.

by glad2bamom, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM
I definitely wouldn't base my opinions off of the news from a seamstress, however, I do know (as someone who sews, myself) that you do take very specific measurements when fitting for clothing.  It is very likely that if she has scoliosis, (curvature of the spine) then one of her limbs is longer than the other.  You should see a doc, because there are varying degrees of this condition.  It can cause back pain as you get older.
As far as the bigger boob thing, I don't think I personally know a woman who is symmetrical in that department.

Good luck--

See we all think ur fine :) Just make an appt. if u want, but don't stress out over it :) Hows the house plans coming, I know u got the land so I figured you'd be getting ready for the next phaze :)Take Care

by sk2006a, Nov 01, 2006 12:00AM
adult scoliosis can be caused by progression of a small curve that was never diagnosed or treated in childhood.  it takes a pretty good-sized curve for it to be noticeable, which is how my daughter's got so big without our noticing it.  it happened within a short period of time.  it doesn't mean, ip, that your's has gotten serious, but it wouldn't hurt to have it checked out -preferrably with a orthopedist if one is available.  it's also possible your doctor missed it while you were maturing and you just never knew you had it - it happens.

How r u? I thought of u last night as DS was trying to fall asleep after he had ate tons of Halloween candy & I couldn't his tooth brush any where, close to midnight I finally found where he laid it (DH helped him the night before last, so he never got the toothbrush back from DS LOL) anyway I turned the light on & got ds out of bed for a good teeth brushing he wasn't happy since he was almost asleep but maybe I stopped a cavity from happening :) I've not been on near as much either, & once u don't stay on here u get soooo far behind :)

by islandprincess, Nov 02, 2006 12:00AM

First of all - why the hell did the seamstress think it was her place to tell you of your bodily imperfections? I don't believe telling someone about their breasts being different sizes is any more necessary than telling them the colour of their hair is noticably different to their own...why is that bit of info relevant? If it were me (and my left breast has always been slightly larger than my right FYI) I would've told her that she wasn't telling me something I didn't already know!!! As for your spine...is she basing it on the fact that she said she knows because her 'sister' has it?

by islandprincess, Nov 03, 2006 12:00AM
i didn't know that my left breast was smaller & about the spine she said her sister has that same problem that's how she noticed.....my dr didn't notice it so she did.....but to me it's not a big deal

by siren of the sea, Nov 03, 2006 12:00AM
i would have slapped her with my larger boob.
