dark brown discharge

Hi, a couple weeks ago I had my period which was a lot lighter then normal and ended early but had quite a few days shortly after with a little spotting. A week after that ended I started getting a dark brown discharge and I'm really not sure what to think now. It has lasted 4 days now. I have been off the pill for 4 or 5 months now, and have been trying to get pregnant so didn't know if maybe this could be a sign of pregnancy? I know it says that implantation usually shows up in brown/reddish discharge, but does it usually last this long? Could it really be pregnancy or something else? I have never had anything like this happen in my life, my period is usually pretty normal, even once I stopped the pills.
