depo today periods gone tomorow??

hello
this may sound really strange from the title when i go onto the depo injection i have no periods at all i came on my period today (of all days my birthday ) and have bad belly cramps i have been in labour and would say its not far off that pain i am on strong painkillers but am really considering going on the pill injection again to stop my periods because of the pain if i was to have it today will my period stop or will i have this one as normal then next one be affected i no everyone is different but there is millions o ppl someone must be like me lol
