discoloration of labia after baby

I just gave birth to my son 3 months ago. In the last week or so I have notice that the end of my labia is turning a brown color. Now I have read how it can change colors when you get older in age but I am only 22, and don't think it should be turning colors this soon. I haven't had sex in 3 weeks maybe more, so I don't think it was just from friction. The only thing I can think of is that maybe since the blood circulation isn't as it was threw my pregnancy maybe that has something to do with it.I have a doctors appointment at the end of August so I can ask her than but just wanted some piece of mine. And  if the discoloration I have now is permanent is there anything I can do to prevent future discoloration.  Thanks for any and all answers!

I'm 42 and I JUST went for a pap and when I was in the office Dr. didn't say she saw anything abnormal. I was just out of thebath last night and I noticed that my labia was REALLY DARK on the outer most edges and there is a spot (like a large freckle) on the inside of my left thigh. I have benn all over this site because I was FREAKING out. I hadn't really noticed the discoloration until last night. But I am HOPING it is indee hormonal and that fact that I have given birth 3 times has a lot to do with it ... glad to see other people with similar symptoms - now I can stop iaginign the worst and thik I am a freak of nature! Will call my OBGYN and ask about it anyway ...

I think that it may be hormonal, but I'm not 100% sure. I have had this, too, in the past. Just a small spot and I honestly can't remember what I was told by the dr's. Only not to worry about it. Best wishes and congratulations on your new baby!
