do i still have a tampon in??

It has been just about 3 weeks since my period ended and I'm expecting my next one soon. For the past two weeks I have felt like I have had a tampon in whnever I went pee. Like when you pee with a tampon in you can feel the tampon absorbing some pee and it can be uncomfortable. Ive felt around in there and i cant feel anything. Just today i started to feel pain. Its a slight stabbing pain (not cramp pain). My chest also feels tight and im beinging to worry. I was just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else. everyone aound me is telling me that i'm fine, and i was believing it until i started feeling pain as well as feeling sick. i dont know what to do besides go to the doctor.

I have noticed a strange odour as well as pain. I went to the er abduction got scanned and ended up with kidney stones and a uti.. I've been on antibiotics for days and i still feel horribly sick. I have had stones before but as soon as they pass, im feeling better.. I think it may be a tampon causing and infection. Wouldn't the doc have seen it in the scan? Or would he think i was on my period instead? Really scared of tss!!!

go to the doctor, you would know if you left one in. The may not be related to your period

It's unusual to go weeks with a missing tampon and not know it. For one thing, the smell becomes unbearable after a while. If you don't smell anything and If you reach in as far as you can and can't feel the tampon or string, then you're probably OK.
