estradiol blood levels and number of follicles for IVF

Hi there. This is my 3rd cycle of IVF and I thought I knew it all. Just wondering what exactly the estradiol blood levels actually show? I thought that just determined when your body was ready for egg retrieval. I didn't realize that determine egg maturity. What do the numbers mean?

Oh sorry, I meant egg maturity and quantity.

I believe they show your level of estrogen.

This chart explains it pretty well. I think it's the day 3 estradiol levels that indicate ovarian reserve and egg quality.
