female anatomy

hello, just wondering if anyone else has this issue, I am pregnant with my third child and have noticed some rigid skin on my inner labia. My midwife told me that it was part of normal rugae, but some spots feel rougher than others and is more noticeable on one side than the other. I'm just wondering if this is in fact normal or if I should ask a different doctor. I have never really started examining myself until recently so i don't know if this is in fact normal for me.
thanks
