fluid around the cervix

I just recently had an adominal and pelvix ultrasound because I am having pain in my lower right pelvix area its not su much painful I guess as discomfort.  The Doctor called said that there looked to be fluid around my cervix and they wanted me to go back for another ultrasound in 6 weeks.  I have never heard of this and cant find much info in the web. Just wondering if anyone has had this knows why it can be caused and what it means I guess any insite would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You
