Just wondering if anyone has had a cold or sore throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture during pregnancy and what can you take? I had a IUI last week so I am waiting for the results-won't be until next week. But I don't want to take anything if I'm pregnant. Any do's or don'ts would help. Thanks.
Always ask your doc for advice on what to take when you are expecting or on the 2ww. You can use tea with lemon, hard candies for simple relief though. Get well.
I never had any indications that I became pregnant, I never got sick except for crampings and missed my period... I am 6 weeks and not nauseated yet... I wonder when it happens.
Here is a copy of a post from the Maternal/Child forum yesterday. Harley-girl posted a list of meds that are okay to take during pregnancy according to the AMA.
I know a lot of us have questioned what meds are allowed. I was give this by my ob-gyn and it was approved by the AMA. Hope it helps those with qestions.
First Trimester
Tylenol in moderation
Second Trimester (14-28) weeks it is ok to take the following:
Benadryl
Chloraseptic Spray
Cough Drops
Ibuprofen
Mylanta
Pepcid
Robitussin DM
Rolaids
Sudafed
Tagamet
Tavist
Tavist D
Tums
Tylenol
Tylenol Sinus
Unisom
Vicks Vapor Rub
Zantac
Third Trimester (28-40 Weeks)
Same as above but NO IBUPROFEN
You may want to ask your dr or pharmacist what would be safe to use, if any of the above things don't bring you some relief.
Take Care
