guardasil and its safety

I am so scared right now.  My daughter was told to have the guardasil vaccine because of its benefits against cervical cancer.  Like so many, I trusted my doctor and let her get the vaccine.  Luckily, we have not had the serious side effects that I now know of.  I would have never let her get the vaccine if I knew.  My question is, does anybody know if the serious side effects happened mostly right after the vaccine or could my daughter still have a bad reaction.  She has had all three shots.  Her last shot was in March and she did start to have a chesty cough after that.  She still does.  We were told it was probably ashthma.  She never had ashthma, so I am skeptical about that.  I feel so helpless.  I wish I could go back and say no to the vaccine, but its too late.  I feel so bad for the families of the girls that died and are suffering with bad side effects.  I hope my daughter will not get a reaction, but not knowing is what is terrifying me.  Does anyone know if the effects can still happen?  Thanks

Thanks for your comment.  You have helped ease my mind.  It scares you to death to read the negative side effects that could happen.  34 healthy young women died and also a lot have had serious neurological/seizure type reactions from this vaccine.  I am worried because they did not do a lot of studies before releasing this vaccine.  I am also an advocate of vaccinations and both my children have had them all, but after reading more on this one, it scared me that I didn't research this one before letting them give it to her.  I am happy that you have not had any reactions after a year, and I hope that my daughter will be the same.  I am more aware that you have to take your and your families health in your own hands and research everything before allowing them to inject them/you with something that has not had a lot of studying.  I will be more careful in the future.  Thanks again for commenting.

I had all 3 rounds of the gardasil vaccine and I am perfectly fine.  I had them over a year ago.  Go back to the doctor and get second and third opinions.  Never stop with the first answer you get if you are not completely satisfied with it.

On the contrary, I fully endorse the shot.  All vaccines have side effects... and we vaccinate our children all the time.  But this help to prevent her from getting HPV, which is very common.
