I have very thick hair on my legs and every time i shave i get bad hair bumps and it's very irriating.I have tried just about everything from waxing to shaving to hair removel creams, nothing seems to work.Should i see a dermatogligest for this or is it common in most teenagers. The problems is so bad that i only shave about once every two weeks.

Hi What type of razor do you use? Some times it could be caused from the razors.Or if you are not lathering your legs up enough,it could be razor burn. There is a new razor out my daughter uses it,it is called a qautra schick 4.It all so has a aloe vera strip on it to moisturize as you shave. My daughter is trying to talk me into buying one.I told her I'm 58 years old and don't need to impress no body. You can find them at Wal-mart.Hope this helped.Raven33

I also have heavier hair on my legs (lower leg only though, thank goodness).  I cannot use disposable razors, they irritate my legs to NO END.  I purchased a men's razor with disposable blades - Gillette Sensor XL.  This works wonderfully!  They have disposable blades, which are pricy compared to disposable razors, but WELL WORTH IT!  You should try getting one of those kinds of razors.  Then be sure to change the blade about every 4th time you shave - the duller the razor, the more irritation.

I also tend to have thicker hair on my legs and I bought an electric razor...it's a panasonic rechargeable razor, and it works really well.  It is more expensive and you have to go slow, but you can't cut yourself and it doesnt leave bumps.

To: Very course leg hair..
I have such thick let hairs..I can shave and when i get out of the tub and put lotion on it itched like crazy..Eventually it goes away the next day i have razor bumps an hair pulling through again..i use disposable razor with aveeno shaving cream and it doesn't work..I've done waxing an now i'm doing laser treatments.I feel great when i get home from it but that's because she numbs the legs with a spray that the machine puts on the legs..She also uses aloe vera but i feel if use that it woul dry my leg out..:pus do i still use my aveeno lotion with it or just one.So confused..Right now my leg hairs are growing in and if put lotion on and push the hair down the way it's growing from it helps but it does snag on clothes and feel itchy..Any ideas of what to do.I want to use nair but i heard it's very bad for sensitive skin..What you think..Anyone used nair and have sensitive skin..Please help/
