hair loss

my daughter has just turned 18 and has 2 large patches of hair loss on her head she has alot of headaches and her head hurts when she runs her fingers threw her hair she also has pain in her left shoulder for some reason and has an appointment 2 morrow at doctors should she ask for a blood test to be done?

i'd get a second opinion if you're not happy with what the Dr said. Stress also makes the hair fall out as well as hormonal issues

thanks they didnt offer her a blood test and said she was depressed and it was more likely to be alapechia think thats how you spell it.  they said it could get better or worse they gave her a steroid cream to rub on her scalp if that doesnt work then they will offer her steroid injections on her scalp but dr said they are painfull and dont always work.  so sad when there is no obvious solution she is such a beautifull girl with long blonde hair and she has always taken care of it.

They'll probably run some blood tests as a matter of routine. Most likely one will be for thyroid. I'm glad she's getting in soon.
