My Ob/Gyn must be paranoid then, because he told me that rolaids were not good during pregnancy and also cough drops with menthol...
Which was disappointing, because I also think rolaids work better than tums... malox did NOTHING for me... but then I did develope acid reflux.
I guess just listen to whatever your Doctor says.
During my preg. I was told Maalox, even extra strength, as I could only sleep upright due to acid in my throat......Maalox worked. Good luck
Tums is good, for longer term relief, tagament both over the counter and rx worked wonders for me.

I don't know if things have changed, but when I was pregnant, my Dr. told me that tums was OK, but NO on the rolaids...
I am 7m pregnant now and I have an excellent dr who actually gave me a list of OTC drugs that I can take for various things. For heartburn and indigestion you can take-mylanta, maalox, tums, and rolaids. These are all save to take. Rolaids worked the best one me and tasted alot better than tums. I got tums this time and have been disappointed in them lol. Also a way to help reduce getting heartburn is to eat small frequent meals throughout the day and make sure to chew well. Also they say to not drink with your meal but to wait until you are through, I cant ever do that. Hope this helps!
