yeah, momastat is very stick and makes a lot of white stuff in there for a few days, so if you don't have that symptom probaby don't use it.
if your ONLY symptom is redness, how can you be sure you have a yeast infection? if you are not ENTIRELY sure that you have a yeast infection, do not start treating it with a medicine like monistat. there is a chance you might not have a yeast infection, and if you try to use monistat you could completely mess up the pH in your vagina.
until you're sure you have a yeast infection, go with something else. you can buy PLAIN yogurt at the store, but while most yogurts should be good enough, you may want to look for the natural yogurt. what i mean by this is something that is NOT low fat. so, if you are interested in this..
my doctor told me there are a few reasons to do this. first of all, plain yogurt has a lower amount of sugar. yes, it might not taste great, but you just have to put up with it, or put some fruit in it. secondly, low fat yogurts have MUCH less acidophilus in them. unfortunately the majority of the yogurts you will find at your store are low fat. so you have to read the labels VERY carefully to find one that is not low fat.
that's what i would say you should start out with, if your only symptom is redness. good luck!
monistat 1 is awful. don't do it. try the 3 or 7 if you go that route. i prefer to try yogurt first, myself.

In my experience most yeast infection meds don't really give good relief for about 3 or 4 days, but even though you do get relief quickly you need to finish the whole course of the medication to prevent it from coming back quickly. I haven't tried any home remedies but I did buy a homeopathic brand once and tried it and I didn't feel it worked as good as the monistat.
