Wow... It's somewhat calming to know I am not alone. I am FREAKING OUT!!!!
I had my last period on January 19th. I had my Copper IUD removed after having it for 5 months on Feb. 9th because my body was rejecting it. However I had unprotected sex the night before I had it removed. I started bleeding the day after it was removed and bled for 3 or 4 days. If you go by my regular cycle I am 18 days late. And the day before I should have started I almost fainted at work and have never had anything like that before. Now if having it removed effected my period... I should have started today but there is nothing. No signs what so ever. However I was crampy for a few days about a week ago. I looked up one of those charts that show when you ovulate and if it messed up my cycle the prime day I had sex three times. The first time we used that spermicide but two after we used the pull out method. In the few weeks I have been an emotional train wreck. And I have felt like throwing up almost all day everyday. Strong smells have almost sent me into the bathroom. And I have had headaches on a regular basis... However I have taken 4 hpt and they have all come back negative. I took one today and it was negative. I don't know what's going on. My period is never late. Has anyone else had the same experience and if so did you end up getting your period or were you pregnant? Please someone respond. I feel like I'm going crazy. Thanks.

Got my IUD (Mirena) out on Feb. 8th. Exactly a week later, I started bleeding, lightly. Only enough for a light panty liner.  I had it in for almost 2 years. I took it out because I had HORRIBLE side effects.  I had hair loss, bladder problems, cramping, pregnancy symptoms, etc.  The first year was great, but after that I developed the symptoms.  I didn't realize it was the IUD until recently because I didn't have problems the first year.  I've had it out a week and a half and already have had relief from the symptoms. Even stopped losing my hair FINALLY!!  Just curious why my period is so light and why I didn't bleed AT ALL when it was removed.  Will it stay light or is this just the first period in two years, so it needs to get back into the swing of things?

I had the para-guard inserted on Dec. 21, 2008 and near the spring of 2010 I started having heavy bleeding and heavy cramping. I would also get this blood that looked like old blood before I actually started. It was a mess anyway to say the least I wanted it removed and my OB could not find the strings. So I had to have a ultrasound to find it. It was there right in the place it was supposed to be. But, the strings were up in my uterus. I again went back to my OB which again failed at the removal. This was getting expensive for me so my OB asked me to contact Planned Parent Hood. I did and they were unable to remove it. They made me an appointment for the next day to have it surgically removed.  It was called a hysteroscopy it was not bad, just some cramping after and 3 days later Dec. 30, 2010 I had a period. That was very heavy and lasted about 12 days. So I was thinking I would have my period around that same time and I did, Started on Jan. 30, 2011. Well, that lasted for 10 days the last day was Feb. 9, 2011 and guess what I am bleeding again just started today Feb. 17, 2011. Has anyone else done this? I am calling my doctor tomorrow.

Hey guys, gald I found this site as I thought I was the only out going through this.  Well, I had my IUD (Mirena) taken out in November after having it in for 16 months.  Had it removed due to horrible side effects and am so glad.  I bled two days after removal for a few days, nothing major.  Then got my 1st period on December 18th which was my normal date from before contraceptive injections and then the coil.  Was a little heavy for a couple days then stopped completely after 5 days, only trouble is now I'm late but I cant be pregnant as my partner and I have been careful.  How long should I wait befor going to my Doctor???
