hysteroscopy

My doctor wants me to have a hysteroscopy done.  I have no bleeding, pain, or any other symptoms.  I am 40 with no children and do not plan to have any in the future.  When I had an ultrasound done, the tech some a small spot that could possibly be a polyp.  With no pain or symptoms, and a blurry photo, I'm questioning if the hysteroscopy is really necessary?  Has anyone had a similar situation?  Are there alternatives, and aren't most polyps benign?  Thank you.

I'm not sure but a hysteroscopy something they would do to take a biopsy of the spot they see. If i had anything like that i'd want to know for sure what it was.
