i found a lump near my vaginal opening, what is it?

I woke up this morning and went to the loo, as i was wiping i felt a lump and it was quite sore. It's about an inch away from my vaginal opening. At first i thought it was a normal inflamed zit of some sort but when i checked thoroughly i noticed it wasn't like a zit because it didn't have a head, also it was under the skin and about the size of a marble. It feels like a regular spot (sore and pressurised) but i'm worried it could be something else due to the size. Someone please help.

I've had this too in the past and if I remember correctly it was a blocked Bartholin's gland which can turn into a cyst. These glands are found in the genital area normally and you aren't normally able to feel them. If the cyst becomes infected it turns into an abcess. It was noticed by my husband so I went to the Dr. I didn't have to have any treatment as it resolved by itself. An infection, thick mucus or swelling can block the gland and it can also get bigger after sex as the glands make more fluid during sex. The Dr did discuss lancing it (you should of seen my face!!) if it didn't resolve. It can sometimes be caused by an STD too. I'd see a Dr just to confirm and to make sure nothing else is going on.
