i am too embarrased to go see the doctor about this but here goes. i descovered about a year go a long growth inside my vagina, about a forefinger up. my boyfriend and i can only describe it as a "hot dog" as it is similar to one. i have no idea wether this is normal or not...it does not hurt or anything... any suggestions as to what it could be?

Sounds like your cervix to me, which is completely normal. But you should have yourself checked by a GYN, just to be sure and for reassurance.

Yes, most likely a benign uterine polyp. They can be removed and very rarely become cancerous. Depending on where it's attached it could reduce your chances of becoming pregnant.  It's probably worth mentioning to your doctor the next time you're in.

Cervical Polyps maybe? They are long, finger-like growths from the mucous layer of the cervix or cervical canal...you need to seen by a doctor though
