i have to miss one day of the pill..is that ok?

i couldnt get to the pharmacy before they closed today...lame i know, but i was suppose to start a new pack tonight. what do i do? should i take 2 tomorrow then? one from today plus tomorrows? im kind of scared  though, the first week of pills usually makes me sick, so if i take double on one day im afraid it will be worse, thanks

NO!!!! Do not take 2 pills tomorrow. Forget the pill that you missed today, and continue tomorrow. You can overdose if you take 2 pills at once. Just use a back up of birth control [condoms] to make sure no unwanted pregnancy happens.

I have my instructions for my birth control pills right in front of me, and to quote "if you miss one pill, take it as soon as you remember, and take the next pill at the usual time. this means that you might take two pills in one day" so to answer your question, yes, you can take 2 pills in one day.

My doctor advise me not to do that. Maybe its different, I don't know.

every doctor i have ever seen has said if you forget a day then take it as soon as you remember, then take the pill for the day you are on at your regularly scheduled time. it could even mean taking two pills at one time. you cannot overdose on two normal strength birth control pills

Yes i read my insert, and i asked my doctor to make sure that it was ok if i ever had to take 2 pills in one day if i forgot, he told me that he advises against it. I didn't ask him why, because well he's the doctor so he should know these things but i guess its all ok because everyone here is saying its ok to take 2 pills in one day if you forget. And well, I will say sorry to thumper i wasnt sure if she was clear on what she was talking about as i read her other post before. So i was bit uneasy about this one. Yes, take two pills as soon as you get the new pack tomorrow. Take it with food if it makes you feel ill, but it may just be the hormone changes doing it. You could even take one with the first meal then the other with the next(as long as it is in the same day).Best wishes to you.

It's not that big of a deal for one pill, but to keep the dates right on your pack of pills, you'll have to double up on them the first day.

take your 2 pills the next day. I missed my pill yesterday and just didn't take it. no chance you get preggers by missing 1 pill more like missing 3 pills.
