My mom always called them "lie bumps" lol. They are a result of the acidity of what you eat/drink, in addition to being part of a virus or infection.
Gargling with salt water, or listerine will help them heal.
I'm laughing because I still call them lie bumps. But I get them a lot and I noticed it's after I eat spicy foods. Or Big Red type gum. That's the worst pain!!
My mom called them lie bumps too!! lol. Or swollen taste buds. But anyway, warm salt water will get rid of them in no time. it burns when you are gargling, but the salt actually numbs it for awhile and then they disappear. i've had them all my life along with canker sores (ick). you'll be alright.
Gosh...everybody's mom called them lie bumps! Of course mine did too. The last time I had them a friend of mine gave me this powder made by Ora-gel (sold in the toothpaste/brush isle) called Amosan. You just mix it with warm water and swish it around your mouth and I swear they were gone by the next morning. I bought it at Walgreens, but I'm sure you can get it any drug store.
HEY!! I have not been on in so long. lol My kids keep me busy. My my hubby comes back from overseas in December 5th! :) I moved in August to Savannah, GA so we are still getting used to the new area. But I love it! :) It is glad to see so many are back. I will try to keep showing my face. :)
Well, I think we've all covered that just about everyone calls them lie bumps, and I totally agree that they hurt like heck! They are red then turn to white. don't mess with them except gargle with salt water and don't like your lip with your tongue or don't lick anything with oyur tongue, because when you lick something with your tongue when you have a "lie bump" you spread the disease that's on your tongue. And don't worry you won't die from the lie bump or have to go to the hospital. I've had them soooooo many times, and I haven't died yet. Remember Salt Water!! :-)
These are ulcers...caused from lying...Ha! They really are ulcers. Mix equal parts malox/children's liquid benedryl & rinsing mouth often with this mixture.
