I just wanted to say that I am so so sorry that has happened to you. I am not help when it comes to this subject because I want to have a baby, not yet. But I have never heard of that happening to a person before. Wouldn't they of been able to do surgery to help soften the area. I hope that you find a solution, that sounds horrible and best of luck.

I surely would like to hear what other people have to say. I broke my tailbone 3 years ago, and OUCH mine still hurts. It hurts after sitting on bar stools, picnic tables, any hard surface. Now I'm 30 weeks pregnant and scared to death that it will break during birth.

Ditto, I broke mine about 8 years ago and it still hurts with intense pain and numbness. I am also pregnant and the doctor said there is a very high probability that it will break during labor. Ouch, I cannot imagine taking care of a newborn and dealing with that pain.   To the orig poster there is nothing that can be done for this. Sorry :(

OH NOOOO.... The last time I saw the dumb mid-wife I inquired about it and she said when I had my internal they would check from the inside to see what it felt like?? WHATEVER. I haven't even had an internal at all since I've been pregnant. When do they start poking around?? I go Friday and thank goodness see a DR. I hate my practice with the utmost passion. Anyways, I dread that feeling again so...get the epidural ready & pain medicine to take home :) No, I guess then I can't try to breast feed. I am dying for a beer tho!!

Yummmm beer sounds so good. :)   They start to do internals at about 8 months along. I am all for getting the epidural. :)

I'd go to a pain clinic. I'd also suggest considering a mindfulness meditation class; you can probably find one at a nearby hospital. They're great for folks with chronic illness and chronic pain :-)
