I too thought I had irregular periods until I started charting (just as a safe measure after I quit birth control...I don't want to get pregnant), within a few months I noticed a pattern in them. I have a cycle that is 38-39 days long. I ovulate about 15/16 days before my next period (I usually feel when I am ovulating). I use www.mymonthlycycles.com it is pretty much free unless you get there premium package.
Last but not least it is best to have intercourse every other day, around ovulation, to keep the sperm count nice and high, but not every day (or else sperm count is low) and not every 3 days (or the sperm is old). Plus is there ever a time when you can have to much sex?
I am sending baby dust your way! Good luck!
