irregular mentrual cycles...should i be worried?

hi...i've been having irregular mentrual cycles for about 8 years now. i started having periods when i was 11 years old and next year in march i'm turning 19. at first i thought it was normal for my period to be irregular (for a couple of years maybe)...and now it seems that it wont seem to end. i've been having periods irregularly (once in every 1.5 - 2 months) until now. it was not so bad about 6 - 7 months ago when i thought my mentrual cycle was starting to get normal (once in every month or so...around 35 days to be exact) and now it just totally stopped for about 3 months now. i know stress plays a lot in this (exams coming up this week) but isnt 3 months a bit too much? i'm starting to get worried given the longevity of the problem.

**i've also been having these itchy little red bumps (similar to mosquito bites), whenever i take a shower or when i sweat, on my chest and back. the redness and the bumps fade after an hour or so after i dry myself up. does this have anything to do with my mentrual problem or is it completely different?

help would be very much appreciated.

I am 25 years old and have two kids. I have never in my life had a regular period. I think that some of us are just unlucky. I wouldnt worry about it, I have some of the same problems with my periods. Also, sometimes your periods can be irregular do to stress. Im sure its nothing to worry about.

Im 18 years old and have a question about my period. I get my period lasts for 9 days and it will come like every 25-30 days. My period is usually normal for a while and then will go irregular for like a month or two. When it is irregular i will get it like every 2 weeks for awhile and then it will go normal again. Recently i had my period and when it ended i got it again 11 days later. After that cycle ended i got it again (today), it has been 15 days since the last one. I was wondering if this random irregularity is just becuase of stress at that time.

I don't know about the bumps - sounds more like a dermatology thing than a hormonal thing.  It's hard to say though without knowing more.

As for your period, you need to make an appointment with your doctor.  He will give you a pg test to make sure you are not pg, and then he will give you Provera to make you have a period.  At the appt. you can ask him about going on some type of birth control - this will regulate your periods for you.  Lot of people have gone through, or are going through this.  It's not a big deal - your doc will help.

Good luck!
