irregular period

I'm usually regular but for some reason I skipped my period for 3 months but this month around the time I usually get my period, I started to bleed. I have only been spotting and having discharge. I have been like this for 3 weeks going for the 4th week.The bleeding comes and goes. I went to the doctor and had a pap smear done and it was normal but the I still keep bleeding and now I am having more discharge and I have also noticed that in the past week there has been 5 blood clots is that normal?
