is it normal for a pap to hurt?

i have always tought it was normal for a pap smear to hurt and still do. everytime i get a pap smear done and they swab me i get a sharp preassure feeling even the very first time i had it done, the doctors knew it hurt me but nothing was said. so i was just wondering around here and seen that i guess swabing isn't suppose to hurt. is that ture? if ture what would cause a women to hurt then? and also what about you know those applactors a women would use for yeast infection medication is it normal for a little blood to come out on the applacator after inserting it? and while inserting it getting a sharp pain in lower abdominal? whats is the problem here? and one more question when a women is pregnant what all std are tested for?

I have always found that paps hurt.  Some docs are much better and it hurts less.  The next time you have one done make sure you tell them you mind them.  They can use a smaller speculuum.

I don't think blood on the applicator sounds normal, but if you are getting your regular examinations I am sure everything is find.

I think a pregnant woman is tested for:  herpes, chylmidia, gonorea, hiv.  Please excuse my spelling.
