is something wrong with me? help!

i had a bf for 7 years and every time we had sex there was never a problem that i know of. i have a new bf of 9 months and about 3 months ago he started having problems when we would have sex. he would get a red rash on the shaft of his penis and it would itch. a day later the rash would be gone. we thought this was because of the condoms we used so we stopped using them, but he still gets it. then i thought mayb it had something to do with me because when he first started getting it i was living at my sisters house. they smoke alot and i started having trouble with my sinuses. i got a bad sinus infection and had to take two strong antibotics. it was keflex and prednisone (which is a steroid that you have to take in tapering doses)so in all i had to take 14 pills the first day, then 12 the next, so on and so on until all was taken. it was 5 days worth. could he be having allergies related to me or could it be something to do with the medicine and its having affects on him?

but a yeast infection can be passed back and forth through sexual contact.

Yeast infections are not sexually transmitted. It is totally possible that he developed one all on his own. He needs to go see a doctor.

I'm pretty sure that when a guy comes in contact with a yeast infection, it causes a red, itchy rash. Do you have clumpy white discharge at all, itching? redness? Sounds very much like a yeast infection.

you said you and your new guy were using condoms and he got the rash and you stopped using them and he still got a rash? have you ever had unprotected sex with him before condoms?
i may worry about what he has?
could it just be dry skin or an irritation from his laundry detergent or soap he is using?
you didnt say if you have any type of infection/not? antibiotics can cause a yeast infection (often does) but you didnt mention if you had an irritation?
i would continue to use condoms until you find out for sure what it is.

Taking steriods and antibiotics puts you at a huge risk for a yeast infection!!!  Just go get tested for one.  Are you having any symptoms?  My bet is a yeast infection.

or do i need to be worried about something else. we have both been tested and we are both negative. if it is a allergy it would be a allergy to him because he is breaking out right?

It seems unlikely that you would be causing him to get a rash on his penis.  You both might want to consider getting an STD screening just to be sure though.  It could be something as little as the laudry detergent he uses though.  Whatever the case, don't let it go unchecked.
