is this a yeast infection?!

by Ngoc920, Aug 07, 2009 12:39AM
Hello,

I had a lot of itching nearing the end of my period. Then, I noticed a lumpy and thick white/yellowish discharge that sits inside the vagina after my period. There is no apparent fishy odor. After a few days, the itching stopped (maybe once or twice a day there are a few seconds of icthing, but very minimal) but the discharge continues to be there. Is this still considered a yeast infection?  This is my first time experiencing these symptoms. I am not sexually active. I've bought monistat to use without consulting a doctor, is this ok/risky if it turns out not to be a YI?

Thank you
