itchy vagina

so this just started occuring like 3 days ago. it kinda of feels like the itching is in one place but that could be all in my head. i have had a yeast infection before and i feel like this is different. for the first two days i did nothing and the itch was on and off. this morning i put this lotion on that the doctor gave me when i had my yeast infection and the itchy did go away, but now i feel like there is somehing in there. again, it could all be in my head. also, i just got m period so i do not want to go to a doctor. anyone know wat this is?
