kimfrip, RE: hormone testing

by cirella, Jun 18, 2007 12:00AM
Hi there, I read in one of the posts that you are a nurse so I'm hoping you can answer this question.

My history: 47 year old.  Laparoscopy 11/06 to remove right ovary and cyst. Have remaining left ovary.  Diagnosis, endometriosis.  Dec into Jan (6 weeks) spotted.  Used progesterone cream to stop. No period since the week after surgery.  I don't count the spotting as a period.  Feb 28 had VUS.  Uterus lining extremely full, had to take 400 mg progesterone to start. April; had "normal" period. May; had to take 400 mg to start. June; today, started on my own.

I've had 2 blood tests for hormone checks, both normal. Just took a saliva/urine test for further testing. My question is this, I took the saliva test at day 20 and now I've started on day 23.  Do you think I'll have an acurate reading?  The first day of my last period was an induced period after taking the progesterone.  I don't consider my self to be on hormone therapy b/c I've only taken the progesterone, as needed, 2 times since 11/06.

Thank you!
Lori
