labial swelling??

HI, lately I've noticed that toward the posterior region of my vagina (closest to the anus) there seems to be extra skin hanging off the end... I know that sounds pretty strange, but it will begin to itch and then become uncomfortable during and after sex. I can feel it throughout the day..it is not swollen, but I don't know if it is a  normal part of the anatomy or will go away?? please help..this is making me kind of nervous:(
