large ish lump just inside of virinal wall entrance...? help...

hi, i have a lump on the left side of the entrance just inside of my Virgina about the size of say a grape. may be a bit bigger it has grown. i noticed it a few years a go it feels sharp.. hard to explain but not to touch but i get a sharp pin ***** sort of feeling if i wear a towel etc.. last year or so i can only wear tampons. sex hurts and uncomfortable, also discharge that smells at times. ive had the same partner the father of my children for 8 years i was faithful. he however was not..i met someone recently and he noticed it stright away. im so scared i keep thinking about where to put my kids if i was to die. i feel silly saying that but i do think about it alot ..could it be some kind of cancer? please can anyone help thankyou...

hi just to let you know i have the same thing you stated. It looks like the size of the grape. Its noting to worry about because when i had my 3rd baby the midwife told me it to do with that. its something like they call it piles. just go to the doctor and they will able to help you. best of luck.

I knew you'd chime in on this one.  I'm surprised you didn't mention the "peach pit".  LOL.  A little smile for a sad day--

it may be a cyst of some kind, ingrown hair? OR a hymenal (sp?) skin tag (which it almost sounds like that to me) . it doesnt really sound like an std but its hard over the internet and you didnt really explain in too much detail what it looks like (color/texture). either way, it warrents having it looked at. go to a local planned parenthood. there is one in every area. they are very inexpensive and go on a sliding fee scale (what you can afford). its a great place if you dont have insurance or $. never be afraid or embarrassed to ask a dr. anything!!!! be more embarrassed by letting something that has to do with your health go.
i think that discharge w/ odor is a seperate issue. may be bacterial vaginosis? you will need treatment for that if thats what it is. they will sample the discharge and check it out under a microscope.

It sounds like what's known as a 'bartholin's cyst' gland. I had an infection in one of these exactly where you described and had to have day surgery to have it 'lanced'. I have not had a problem since and that was about 10 years ago. Try this link:

Good luck!

Have u been tested for STD's and had a pap recently? I would think the best advice anyone could give you would be to go see ur Dr ASAP. No woman needs to take risks with something like that.
