it sure is possible to ovulate while breastfeeding i gave birth to my daughter nearly 3 weeks ago on the 14th 2 weeks befor her big sisters first birthday i fell pregnant while breastfeeding and on the mini pill when my first daughter was 6 weeks old good luck.
The thing is I already had my first period. I had my son July 11, 2005. I started my first period May 28, 2006. It was a normal period for me (about 5 days of bleeding). It felt like a normal period for me. Then, with a regular ovulation calendar, I should have been ovulating on June 11th, which is a day I had sex twice with my husband. Now, I should have started my period on June 25th, but did not. I am still breast feeding my almost 1 year old. So I was wondering if maybe my body changed it's mind and said, "um nooo, you are not quite ready to start trying to have another baby". I HAVE taken many pregnancy tests, and all have been negative. I am now 19 dpo and I would think my hcg level would be high enough to register on a htp.... but then there are such things as false negatives... My first born didn't register until a full week after I had missed my period...
Another note-I just remembered that my grandmother got pregnant while she was breast feeding. Two of my aunts are 10 months apart. So, it is possible to ovulate while breast feeding! Good luck, again!
From what I've heard, breast feeding can interfere with your period-you may not have one until you're done breast feeding. I can't tell you if it causes you to not ovulate or not, though. My mother and my aunts have all said that they didn't get their periods back until they were either done breast feeding or almost done. Good luck!
