light periods/ trying to become pregnant

I have a couple questions that go together. Let me just say I have 2 children already. I was on the birth control patch for a year, have been off it for one year. We have been trying to get pregnant and havent been having any luck. My periods have been extremely light since I have been off the patch which is not normall for me. (2-3 days) Im just concerned that the patch may have something to do w/ this, does my body just need more time to become regular again? Any suggestions.....please help......
