like clock work-heavy discharge a week pre-period starts

like clockwork....about a week or week & half before I start my period, my discharge becomes very thick & heavy (during the month I rarely discharge)....during sex it is very noticeable on my partners penis. If i'm using the restroom, It's not a little wipe (usually as much as 2 pumps on a lotion dispenser)....its thick & white-no odor....is this normal?....it's kind of embaressing during sex.....so not only no sex on my period....I have this week & a half I'm uncomfortable.....any answers, ides, opinions..appreciated...Thanks

thanks for your feed back, strange it never really gets in my underwear it always seems to happen when I go to the restroom & wipe or comes out on my partner....so I guess that is sort of a postive thing....I'm really into panty liners these days....so I have more control over any moisture if I need to change....love them!...thanks again for taking the time : )

Every woman's body is different.  However, two weeks after you start your period is your ovulation period.  During this time, your discharge, whether a lot or a little, will be pretty wet and watery to make it easy for sperm to reach an egg.  After your ovulation period (about a week) your discharge will become thick and sticky like what you are describing.  This makes it harder for sperm to reach an egg.  This stage happens just before you start your period, so I don't see anything abnormal about your description.  I myself, also have had times where I have had a larger amount of sticky white discharge.  All I do is clean myself through out the day down there and it keeps down on the amount that gets on my underwear between bathroom trips.  As for during sex, the only thing I can say is clean yourself before you have sex and maybe that will keep down on the amount during sex, but other than that, if your partner is not bothered by it, I would try not to let it bother you either.  It is just a natural part of your body's cycle.  Hope this helps!
