lump after reduction

by Jennifer1968, Oct 07, 2007 07:28AM
I had breast reduction 14 months ago.  I went to my family dr for a checkup, she found a lump in the bottom of my left breast.  It is above my scar and in the fatty portion of the breast.  She set me up for a mammogram tomorrow, but said we will probably get this one and then another in 3 to 6 months, since we have nothing to compare it to.  My question is, is this normal procedure? and what could the lump be?

Thanks,

Jennifer

yes.pretty normal.but if you aren't comfortable with delaying the next appointment go to another doctor or ask for a monthly mammogram.the lump could be a scar or tumor or fibroid.
