I'm 46 and like you, no longer getting sore breasts/tenderness before my periods. Neither do I cramp anymore. For the past 2 + yrs. my periods are lastings 3 - 4 days in duration instead of my normal 6 day periods.
When I was younger, it was normal for my cycles to be extremely irregular and painful; for example, I could look for my periods to start anywhere from the 27th day of my cycle to the 48th day or more of my cycle (never being quite sure when I was going to start). Now, for the past 2 + yrs. my periods are much more regular, starting any day from the 21rst to the 25th day of my cycle - much better and no cramps :D
For me, this pre-menopausel experience is much better than what my "normal" cycle was.
I believe I am among the few woman acutally enjoying having a positive experience by going through the changes. Although they are very helpful for some women, I do not take hormones / birth control pills / or natural creams / supplements, etc. However, if I felt I needed them, I would.
I hope a positive experience happens for you as well.
Thank you for the responses. I have an appointment for a pap next month so I will talk to the doc....hopefully i will be like my Mom and go through this without a hitch, she was 47 when she finished her cycles...no problems...
Your body could be getting ready for meanpause...or its your hormones. If it concerns you, I do suggest for you to see your gyn.
sounds awesome! congrats on the no boob pain. menopause usually comes between 45 & 55. I would imagine that your hormones start to taper off a bit during that time--esp. estrogen, so could be.
