I am having my coil removed in February after it being in place for 8 years (should have been taken out after 5 years) and I was told everything should get back to normal immediately!

I wouldn't necessarily call the bleeding after the removal a period, it is normally called removal bleeding (your body is getting use to not having the hormones the mirena provided).  I had my period while on Mirenea so I knew when to expect it when I had it taken out.  I had mine out and bled exactly two days later for 5 days and then I had my actual period two weeks later when it was expected.  I got pg right after my actual period, but from research I have found some people getting pg right after removal.  Anything is possible, I would just wait until you actually have a period before you start since then you can track better and you give your body some time to produce a thicker lining on your uterus.  Good luck on ttc! .
