mucinous cystadenoma

Hello,

My name is johanna and i am 21 years old . I was diognized 2 years ago that i had an ovarian cyst on right ovary which was "mucinous cystadenoma" , at that time it was 5 inches ling. After having three opinions , all the doctors recommended me to remove it through laparoscopy . 5 months ago i removed the cyst and i just found out that the "mucinous cystadenoma ovarian cyst" came back again.

My doctor told me that there is a chance that my right ovary is not functioning properly since it produced the same cyst after a short period of time . I do not know what to do ?
My cyst is 10 inches , it is definitely way bigger than the first one .He told me that he will probably remove the ovary, but before we take any decisions he told me to go on a pill for a month " jolivette" which is only "progesterone", and will get an MRI done next week and from there we willl see the result.

Ireally would appreciate any help from anyone that has been through the same thing, I am very young and i dont want to loose an ovary!!

please help me i am very worried and i really dont know waht to do ?
I really want to get pregnant but should i risk it ?

please if anyone had the same problem or if you know anybody especially at my age that had the same thing as me , i would love to get some feedbacks..

thank you very much

Hey!!

I am not sure what happend with your case, but I have had two mucinous cystadenomas come back in two years...i got one removed, then it came back again, got that removed, and now it is back AGAIN..they used to burst inside me and then refill, burst and refill until I went on the pill they stopped bursting..the doctor says that i am going to have to remove it AGAin..hopefully third time is a charm! I am 24 years old and was 21 when I first noticed it cause it was so big it looked like I was 7 months pregnant. I am curious to know what happend with your MRI and if you got it removed again..make sure they do everything BEFORE they suggest taking out your ovary cause ur still young..thats what my doc said..update me if u can THANKS

My sister lost a tube and ovary at the same age as you are now, though she had a different cause.  She never had a problem getting pregnant later, never missed a period, no trouble with hormones.  If you do have to have it removed, try not to be scared.  The ovary remaining takes over for the one that left, you don't come up short.
