my period will not stop!

This has happened before When my period lasts FOREVER!
I've already been to the hospital when i was 17 for this. My period lasted for 5 months and i had an ovarion cyst the size of a basketball. i almost died cause i had no iron and barely any blood, got a blood transfusion and i was fine until now. i'm 18 and i'm afraid it's happening again!
should i tell somone or just wait it out ??
