I'm 18 years old and I'm tired every second of every day. Even if I sleep for 12 hours I'll still feel weak and really tired the next day. This has been going on for 2 years now. I've been to the doctors and had a blood test and I found out I'm very low on iron. I've been taking 3 iron tablets a day for the last 4 months and theres still no change. I've tried eating foods rich in iron such as red meat as well. I know it sounds stupid but I feel like theres something else wrong with me. Its ruining my life because I can no longer spend as much time with my friends and I'm usually in bed by 7! I need some help but I don't know what other tests the doctor can offer. Please help!
Hi, I think I seen your post on the forum. I was saying my friend has the same problem is you her iron is very low shes weak and tired to. she takes 3 iron pills a day and her doctor told her it's going to take months to bring it up. Do you know how low it is?
My iron count is 2. The doctor said that was very low but I'm not sure what its meant to be. The iron tablets were giving me stomach pains so eventually I had to cutCuts and puncture wounds down. I just feel like I'm not getting anywhere!
You can increase your iron absorption by taking your pill with orange juice. Also, you should be getting a b12 shot. Ask your dr about it. Best wishes.
correct about the orange juice, you can only absorb iron if you have adeuate stores of vitamin c in your system, so increase your vit c intake as well as the iron and you should feel better soon
