nickle sized bump on vagina's lip

hello, im a seventeen year old female with a worrisome question: so a couple of days ago i noticed a small, painless bump on the outer lip of my vagina. the left side only. it hurt when i touch it, but other then that it was fine. then two days back, it got redder and became more painful. it hurts to walk and sit down, even when clothing touches it. the bump itself is about the size of a nickle, bright red in color, hard, and painful. i used to shave down there, like two years back, but ive reduced to regular trimming so i dont think it's an ingrown hair. i wash down there, everyday, and change my underwear daily. however it is moist down there often, and i work out, which i find gets wet down there [in sweat i believe].

i don't know if this will make a difference but i masturbate using a shower-head but i dont think that has anything to do with that. anyways, im worried. also, today, i found another bump, just as painful, though not as big, near [the area where my thigh meets my vagina, like where my underwear is.]

im a virgin so this cant be stds, i hope. but what it is? it hurts and im worried.

oh! i forgot, my period was suppose to start near april 4-ish. it's the 8...help please?

thanks, i looked it up and i believe that's it. my mom started panicking and wanted to call doctor, i said it's fine. my mother gets cysts on her body at times and uses onions. she cooks the shells of it and then puts it on, making it head in a day or two. so im starting that now. wish me luck, and thanks!

Look up "Bartholin's cyst" on the Web and Google images. That sure sounds like what you've got.  If you've just started using that shower head and get any forceful spray in that area, it might have helped cause the infection. But these infections are very common even without that, so don't feel you've done anything wrong. Incidentally, your period isn't related to this. Good luck.
