no period after childbirth..wut to do about birth contorl

i had a baby in the beginning of april & i went to do my 6 week checkup adn they siad everything was fine and gave me my birth control, and to start it when i had my 1st period..well after i had my baby i bled for the norm. 6 weeks and i still havent had a period..could anything be wrong? and should i go ahead and start on my birth control? thanks

Not without clearing it with your doctor.

Are you breastfeeding? What are you doing about birth control in the meantime?

Please ask your doctor what to do about your birth control issue.

I have 4 childen of my own and never started a period until I stoped breastfeeding my babies. It is said that breastfeeding in itself is a contreceptive. This is just like any other contreceptive and is not 100% foolproof. Dnt take your BC pill until you start a period. It is completely normal not to get a period if you are breastfeeding if you are not then you need to see your doctor. I went for 9mths without a period as I was fully breastfeeding my baby.
