no period for 4 yrs, can someone tell me something? tnx alot

i stopped having my period after i took depo in dec 2002, i got off of it in oct, 2004. I had my period once that month and  then i got really depressed and didnt eat for almost 2 months, and im serious, thats how depressed i was, and now its been 2 years since that time and still no period? when i didnt eat for those 2 months i dropped 50 lbs like dat, but now its 2 years later and im eating healthy and a good weight now, do u think that being depressed made my body not normal, and how what do u think i should do to get my period to come back because i really want to have a baby. tnx alot..the doc prescribed me provera pills and another birth control but they didnt work? any advice?? tnx again.

hi! i would go see your dr again. maybe he can give you something else to take or run some test to find out way you are not haivng them. i wish you the best of luck. i did take the depo for over 4 years and when i got off i had to take a b/c pill that was very high in estrogen to make me start having a period again (i did not have a af for the 4 years) it took mine about 6 months to come on. i know that the dr dont really tell you the long term effects of being on the depo. it was almost time for me to get my shot again and my friend asked me how long did i plan on staying on it since i had been on it for so long i said till i get ready to have kids. she said please ask your dr about the side effects(like it can make you sterial if you take it for so long or when you getoff of it it can take a year so the get p, and sometimes it can lead to heart problems) so i asked my dr the day i went to get the shot and sure enough she told me in some cases it has made people steril and it can take a period of time to get p. so that day i went to the pill. i am not telling you this to scare you but i just think the depo can get your body out of wack and it might take a while to get it going again. but there is hope when i switched to the pill it took me 6 months to get af and then i took it for over 2 years and i got off at the end of dec.2005 b/c the dr told me it would take about 6 months or so to get p since i had been on b/c for over6 y but i got p at the end of jan. it did end in m/c in april but there is hope that you just need to get your period going and things will be good. when is the last time you went to the dr? what kind of b/c were you taking?
