non-stop heavy period

I have been having irregular non-stop menstrual cycles wait clots that can last 3 months at a time with maybe a couple days to months in between without having one. I got on birth control when I was thirteen, now 18, because of irregular periods. I got off 2 years ago exactly and wasn't having any problems till about December 2013 when I suddenly stopped having one for 6 months and now since then I been having them really badly. Seen a doctor in January and they said I was fine, but I honestly think something is very wrong. What is your opinion?

I understand.  Fear can cause us to stand still.  You could have fibroids or a hormonal issue, things like that.  But it is also unhealthy to bleed heavily for a month to month and a half.  I will say that when I've passed a simple cyst from the ovary which does happen to women, I had heavy, painful and a bit longer than normal periods.  But yours are just too long.  Do you have insurance?  Or are you under your parents?

Oh and it can also last 3 months, most the time though it's been a month to a month and a half. I work two jobs so never have time to take care of myself or I would of gone a long time ago, but I am also afraid to find out that it is something bad.

Don't have many people to rely on and the birth control was causing me to have cysts, I was planning on going to the doctors in a week, but I wanted to get some ideas too.

Hi there and welcome.  While it is not at all unusual to be irregular in the teenage years, long periods of bleeding like this are.  when you say nonstop periods, you are now getting a period and it lasts how long?

Why did you stop taking the pill if that was working?  I would absolutely go back to your doctor.  If your period is more than 7 days, they should know and try to get this resolved.

Does your mom help you at all?  Take you to the doctor?  I'm sure she is alarmed by heavy, non stop bleeding.  Anemia is a concern from the bleeding.  so, please make a doctor's appointment and don't let them tell you that month or longer periods are normal.  good luck
